Sometimes.. I bite into more than i can chew...

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 16, 2010, 6:00 PM

JOURNAL

So today i realized i am into WAY too many projects and have way to many ideas for my own good. Sometimes i wonder about myself.
Today i tried to clean a bunch of my cages, and ended up sliceing my hand on the crocodiles cage while cleaning it. So i wrapped that up and kept going, part way through the day i wanted to work on some soaps, so i got all cleaned up and did some different soap projects.

I love makeing the soaps, but i feel like im doing way too much, i have my lion picture ive started and neglected cause im working on so many different things.

Between drawing, painting, plushing, my crafts etsy site, my reptiles, commissions, my other animals, soaps, jewelry makeing, school, ext... somthings gotta give.

Im thinking of takeing down my soap etsy site already, and just selling soaps as i slowly make them on DA alone. They will be cheaper if i do that btw cause i wont have to pay any etsy fees. Plus i wont have the responcibility of yet another store.

Well thats my little sadness rant for today, sometimes i feel like such an idiot, i get into way more stuff than i should :(

Sometimes I find myself taking on too many projects myself. If I do, I try to take a big break, doodle a bit, and find my spark again.

It's better than you ARE being productive of what you're wanting to do, then one who doesn't do any at all : )

... But yeah, one can chew too much at a time xD

Just take your time; work on a few of your ideas at a time : )

youve got alot on your hands! i wish i had more stuff to do.. ive been unsuccesful in the job hunt wich has lead me to really want more projects/hobbies but they all require money.

I did get my first snake though, i grew up with tons of reptiles but i havent had any in YEARS since i was a child. I just got a 2 year old ball python :)

I plan to start a small reptile collection after a while, Id like to get a redtail boa (thatll be the largest snake i ever get unless i can talked into adopting a burmese that a family member has had for years) and maybe an iguana down the road. ill stick to snakes for awhile, they are so easy to care for and while im a busy teenager i dont want something thats easy to neglect.

LOL sadly yes you are right, and im running out of money.

Anywhoo thats awesome that your starting a collection. Word of advice on iguanas though is they are ALOT of work and tend to be a big mess. Its not a big deal if you only have afew animals but i recently had to give mine away cause i couldnt dedicate enough time to him. Hes got a good home now but still, it was very hard.
Snakes = Easiest. lol

Well good luck getting it all sorted out and under control :)

Thanks for the advice :) if i do choose to get one ill certainly make sure to wait until im ready to take on the responsability and have the space for it.
I plan to keep a collection of small easily cared for animals until i move out. Animals that would be easy to rehome if i decided to take on an animal that needs more time and space like an iguana.

Its a shame so many parents wont allow their kids to get snakes as pets, instead they opt for a lizard or fish, both are much harder to care for (ESPECIALLY fish, those are a lot of work) The animal always ends up not being cared for and gets aggressive. At least with a snake its hard to starve it and they dont mess the cage often.

I think i may start a rack system and get a couple of Corns and Kings.

That's how I was. Then I ended up leaving DA without a word for 4 months so I could relieve stress on World of Warcraft. So I made a schedule which is available on DA at all times. I update it every Tuesday when I get my work schedule up. It keeps things in order and I still have some mornings(when I don't work the whole night) to myself to do little things I want to do. I don't know what's going to happen when I go back to school in the fall. I'll probably have to cut some days off from Art Work which will make commission slower to update but it's ok. I just try not to burn myself out because then it makes it easier for Holy Fox is become realer in my mind(schizophrenia, Holy Fox is not just a character in my mind).

You aren't an idiot.
I think maybe did try to take more than you were ready for, but it's a learning experience right?
I do agree though that maybe you should stick to one shop. Then everyone can find you stuff, you save on fees, and your soaps get a faster start. Maybe if they get more popular you could have them with their own shop.

Ugh, I have totally been there! Sometimes, we talented folks have so many directions to choose from that we end up landlocked. I find, you have to prioritize, and figure out which things can be shelved for later. It's not always the easiest thing to do, but it will keep you from burning out.
